Do I need a Reflexology Chair or can I use Massage Table?

Im about to complete a reflexology diploma and was just wondering if I need to buy a chair or can I use a massage bed?

I have a massage bed in treatment at room which is Hydraylic and the back comes up. My mobile massage bed back does not move, its just flat. The massage bed (think its a beauty couch) at work back does come out.

I will be using the 2 treatment room, in work and at home for reflexology. Can I use the massage beds already there or do I need to buy a
reflexology chair?

I doubt I will be using the mobile bed for reflexology as I use that for massage and sports therapy, but could I use it for reflexology if needed to?

Also, has anyone done a Thai Foot Massage course, with the sticks, I am interested in doing a course on it. Is it worth me investing?

I use a massage couch I find this the right height for me, am a shortie lol or a stool which was given to me, but some favour the Lafuma chairs x

I've never got on well with the Reflexology chairs, especially Lafuma which I found far too low. I use a couch with an adjustable back, and have used flat couches in the past although prefer not to, as some people (bad backs, pregnancy) need to be propped up.

Hello, you may like to consider that you may go on to do massage or reiki (if you don’t already) then you will need to get a couch anyway. I don’t like chairs, they don’t fit in with my style of working but they are great if you are doing home visits as they are portable or for people who would have trouble getting on and off or lying on a couch. I have got both but rarely use the chair.

I use both - and find that clients either prefer one or the other, never both!
A couch is great for stability, but the Lafuma tends to be more 'comforting' - or so my clients have told me.

*by the way, there are cheaper alternatives to Lafuma, so if you did want one, you can pick one up for about £40 from Argos!

I do have a lafuma that I use sometimes, but as a multi-therapist I overall prefer a massage couch with the back that goes up. Therefore I can use it for Reiki, Reflexology and Deep Tissue Massage and no messing around. It's a lightweight model and ideal for clinic and portable work. For reflex I pad it up for extra pillows.

As for Thai foot massage, I do like it myself and to practice, but not a big money spinner, better as CPD for the reflexologist & massage therapist. I studied in two TFM courses Thailand to get a broader experience.

I use either the couch or the Lafuma and sometimes the portaped depending on where I'm doing the treatment.

I personally find it more comfortable for me working on the couch.
