Shit, I've still never seen a credible case of a man catching HIV/AIDS from unprotected straight sex, even with a skanky crack whore. Read up on the myth of heterosexual AIDS. The truth that many in the fight against AIDS don't like to admit openly is that there are almost no credible documented cases of men catching HIV from sex with a woman. Early in teh AIDS scare a number of closeted gay men and drug abusers lied to health workers and said their only exposure to HIV was sex with a pro.
In the 1980s and early 1990s this became the basis for the heterosexual AIDS myth. The myth was largely spread out of ignorance and hysteria and helped bring public concern and millions of research dollars to the fight against AIDS. Years later when the data confirmed that HIV was not spreading among heterosexual/non IV drug user men in the Western world, the scientific community and media buried the story. They want people to remain focused on AIDS and to keep the research dollars flowing. This is a simplified version of the story. If you desire more information then just do a google search on the topic and read the sad truth.
For the record, I do not frequently bareback pros. It has happened, but not by design. Usually, a broken condom was the reason. I caught the clap once that way and had a scare that I may have contracted herpes. Luckily the herpes turned out to be an ingrown hair in my pubes. I know of several guys that have contracted an STD from a pro over the years, including one unfortunate pal of mine who got herpes from a BBBJ at a Las Vegas strip club. There are a lot of ugly STDs out there and protection is in order. But, I don't think HIV/AIDS is a credible risk for straight men who don't abuse IV drugs.
