I don't believe in Psychics. I believe that those who claim themselves to be Psychics just have a sense that allows them to quickly observe and decipher a person's aura and personality.

I also agree that most people who claim to be psychic are full of shit.

I also wonder if there might be some people with a genetic mutation or brain anomaly that allows their brains to function in ways that we just don't understand yet. :neutral:

The thing about psychics is:

If they tell enough generalities, they are bound to get some right.....kind of like a coin toss: I SEE A HEAD IN YOUR FUTURE!!!! then you toss the coin and it turns up tails.....oh, I must have interpreted it in reverse......

To a single woman: OH I see a man in your future, tall, dark and handsome.....if you go back and you say you haven't met one? She will say: I didn't say when.....or better yet, you met him and you didn't act on what I told you.....(he could have been the bus driver).

Do you play bingo? I see you winning money......so you find a penny on the ground, SEE?

And the ever popular: I see an earthquake in California...NO shit, that's like saying you see a hurricane in the atlantic.....DOH

There is a TV show called The Mentalist... the central character (a former "psychic") who now works with the CBI... I know its just a TV show, but he does a great job explaining how "psychics" are nothing more than shysters...

Im a believer. Not in all people claiming to be one, but I have met a few that are very gifted. Everything with a grain of salt. I think what you gain from it depends on why you are there in the first place. A little guidance, affirmation, unease, confirmation, piece of mind...or complete hope & faith....big difference.

The best psychics dont ask u questions, they simply begin...often things come about later on that at the time made no sense. Their accuracy comes forth down the road. Thats the test.

And best of all, its all in good fun and a little fun never hurt anyone!

People have give off information with words, body language, smells etc. Some people are great at reading others. Some people have a need and a want to believe in the super natural, to each their own.

That's the problem, there are some people who rely on these shysters for guidance and they have no qualifications to give advice to anyone. Then there are those who really can't afford to go, yet do anyways and maybe their children suffer because of it.

Just like lotteries: if you can afford to throw away a buck or two a week, fine, but if you can't? You shouldn't play. (Like I heard someone say this week: lotteries are just a tax on the stupid).

And they can do damage. For eg: one of these shysters say "you're coming into money next month" and some loser takes that ver batim and goes out and spends on a big purchase. Then when the money doesn't come next month, what then?

This happened to a gf of one of my ex gfs:
She used to swear by a psychic and saw her maybe twice a week. One time she comes home and says "she said I'm going to win some money at bingo" and sure enough, next time she went to bingo she won $100.00". SEE she says, the psychic was right....

Hang on a second I said to her. Don't you also play bingo twice a week? yeah. Don't you always win at least once a week? So often that you put that in your monthly budget? Yeah. So you say the psychic is truly gifted because you won money after she said you would, even though you always win? No she's gifted!!!!

So she somehow told the psychic that she plays about 20 - 30 games of bingo a week. She's BOUND by the law of averages to win SOMEtime......(even though she was luckier than most and won almost every week).

Lets face it; everyone is fascinated with psychics. The idea that someone can know the unknown, especially about us, is very intriguing even for the most skeptical.
But is it for real? Can people actually get in touch with dead? Are psychics really able to tell everything about us from our watch or some other personal item? Are the methods and tools they use such as tarot cards and crystal balls really able to forecast the future?

In the psychic world there are two classes of psychic readers. There are those who are known as "Shut Eyes" who actually believe they are in touch with the dead and can really read the minds and futures of people who come to them for readings.

And there is a second class of psychic readers known as "Open Eyes". Open eye readers do not necessarily believe they possess some mystical other worldly power. What they do believe in is their mastery and skill in using their reading method of choice - be that tarot, palm reading, numerology or one of many other psychic reading "systems".

Open eye readers see the system they are using as being the most important part of the psychic reading. They spend many years mastering one, or a combination of several, of these traditional divination or "fortune telling" methods. In doing so, the open eye reader develops an uncanny understanding of human nature and develops an intuitive ability to grasp the meaning of any situation and the people involved.

In contrast the shut eye psychic often does not use a method but seemingly "channels" information from another time and place. They will often say that the props used by the open eyed reader are unnecessary for someone who is truly psychic. And perhaps they have a point.

An open eye reader, on the other hand, may not have any actual psychic ability (in the shut eye sense of the word); but has developed an intuitive right brain sense of what is happening and what is likely to happen, due to the years spent mastering their own personal reading system.

Reading systems such as the Tarot are first and foremost personal development tools. By using them and studying them constantly, anyone can begin to train their intuition and develop an uncommon understanding of the world around them and the people in it.

The tarot is especially good at developing the reader in this way. Every facet of a tarot card has meaning - The colours - The symbols - The characters on the card - The scene symbolized in the card. Every part of the card provides information to someone trained in the interpretation of the tarot.
Over a period of time a tarot reader begins to develop the ability to look deeply within any setting or situation and extract a more profound meaning and message from what is going on around them.
These insights are of course not reserved for the tarot. Any method practiced often enough will develop similar qualities in the person practicing them.

While not everyone has the ability to be a shut eye psychic, anyone who has the desire to do readings -and is prepared to put in some time and thoroughly learn a reading system - should ultimately be able to give very effective and helpful psychic readings.
