Do you have a referral program?

We are considering starting a referral program to drum up more business. Does anyone else have anything like this? What do you offer? How do you implement it? do you give your clients extra business cards or have a separate card to write their name on so you know who referred them? What are the drawbacks? Does it work? Do you have any other input to ensure the program works? Thanks all for the help, I feel if we do this right it can really benefit us down the road.

However, since you asked, if you'll do the search and take the time to add those threads into this thread, please know it will help others! And, I am sure you will also get some fresher responses in the near future.

The referral program I do is with other healthcare professionals. I will send the chiropractor, for example, about 10 $25 gift cards to pass to her patients that she may think will benefit from my work. And it gives people a really good reason to come and try me out. I personally think it is far more effective than just passing out a business card.

That is a really neat idea. How long have you been doing that and how many repeat clients has that brought you? I like reading your posts because you are always so creative with your marketing ideas!!

I just started doing this as of the first of the year. And I am just starting to get new people in the door this way. So it took about 3 months for me to see results

I have been doing this for 6 months and it is finally starting to gain some traction, so far I have gotten 3 regular clients out of the 30 I sent out
