Do you sell products?

I was wondering, how much of your business is selling products? And WHAT do you sell? I wa sjust wondering if this is common. I'm thinking of marketing biofreeze, it saved my shoulder this summer when I was having problems, so I can vouch for its effectiveness. I dont know how much of a pain it would be to do though.. and if its worth it. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

i have a really nice shelving unit that has product on it. it's been sitting there for over a year now and not much of it has moved. the only stuff that i actually do move is the biofreeze but i've been giving bottles of it to my clients instead of charging for it. i have spoken to some other therapists in my area and they all agree that having products in the office is pretty much a waste of time (and money). i suppose it could depend on the office environment you have. anyway, i'd say if you're going to carry product, biofreeze is the right one to have. people who know it, like it. people who don't know it can be given samples of it and will usually like it and possibly buy it when they come back. i don't think you're going to make a bunch of money selling it....but it's nice to have for people who want it.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but does anyone sell Foot Levelers? My aunt-in-law is a chiro and she fitted my husband with some that have saved his feet...and when I got my free biofreeze samples they sent me info on offering these to my clients.. I ws wonering if anyone has any experience with Foot Levelers?

I only sell three things.
Biofreeze
Tigerbalm
Theracanes
I always ask my clients of they want to try either ointment during session.
I've used both, I enjoy both ointments and I sell the theracanes when someone has very tight traps and is interested in relieving tightness in between visits. They trust my judgement in these items and I do a soft sell but really, these items sell themselves!

I'm with Tera. I have Biofreeze in my office and it does move pretty nicely off of the shelf.

If you are going to carry product, carry stuff that you actually use yourself so you can give a first hand endorsement but also use it on your clients during their treatments so they can feel it first hand before they buy it.

I agree with both. Definetly use what you sell.

I carry:
Biofrezze - I like for acute pain
Sombra - I like more for chronic pain
Knobbles - home care
Tinglers - great gifts
Ice packs
Ordering heat wraps - use one on almost every client and don't have any on hand to sell.

I don't sell a ton of anything, but I don't keep to much on hand. These are all things that have sold easily. It is there if the client is interested.

i'm going to order 6 foam rollers and see how they do. my husband coaches cyclist, triathletes, and runners. his clients are my clients as well. most of their problems have to deal with tightness. i'm always giving out links to the rollers, but they never get around to buying them. maybe this will be easier.

The biofreeze moves really well for me.

I also am a Body Shop rep. We have none of their stores here where I live and it's been a big hit.

I order regular blue gel ice packs from Scrip massage. I sell them individually or with my ice pack wrap that I designed.

I order my heat packs (microwavable) from: http://www.ache-ease.com/
They heat up better than some of the others and hold the heat longer. My clients really like them - I add it into almost every treatment. Some day when I have more space I would like a Hydrocollator, but for now these work.
I like to have some on hand for them to purchase for home care.
