Do you use a couch/ therapy table?

Hi everyone
Are there any reflexologists that use massage table/ couch for both reflexology and other therapies? I've been using a lovely electric recliner chair for the last year. Now I'm planning to offer massage treatments so sadly I have to sell my chair and get a table as there's no room for both. I've had a look on the internet but there seems to be so many options and I'm getting lost. I know I need a reiki end table for reflexology but that's about as far as my knowledge goes on tables. I know there are hundreds available on ebay but I've bought equipment from there before and bought too cheap and was stuck with poor quality items. Any advice would be very welcome. Thank you.

Hi Tasha,

When I used to offer Reflexology I used a couch without any problems... you can get good quality and cheap couches from Sally Hair and Beauty for about £99 plus VAT but they do have VAT free days if your not VAT registered..

Hi Tasha, yes I use a couch for reflexology and a reflexology stool (I do other therapies too) I wish I had one that was more lightweight and height adjustable (Should mention that I am mobile)

Hi Tasha,
I use a massage couch for reiki, reflexology amd massage. It is important to consider weight if you are going mobile. My main points were to get a table that was height adjustable, it had to have a back rest, ie the back could go sitting up or completely flat, and inbetween and if giving reflexology or reiki you need to be able to put your knees under the table end. Many cheaper tables do not have the back rest, so check it does have this. I also went and had a table that was wider than normal, so if clients fall asleep, which many do they are fully supported, difficult with mobile, and lighter couches. If you found a good couch, without the back rest you could use a portable reflexology chair, laufuma, which are lightweight and portable as well. It is a lot of money so look around first, ask colleagues what they have , look at them yourself.
Bought mine on ebay, no problems but it stays in one place, still looks new today after two years use, really pleased with it. It has wooden legs and two inch foam, really comfy. good hunting.

I use a couch in my therapy room for all my treatments. If I go mobile, I use a lafuma chair for reflexology which is much lighter than a couch, then if I have a mobile massage client I take my couch.
