Doctors Consent Letter

Hi

I have a client who needs to get doctors permission before having reflexology due to the amount of medication she is taking but I am unsure what to put in a letter to the doctors for consent. Does anyone have one that I could have a look at please?? I really need to do this this weekend as I am seeing the client on Tuesday for a chat about it.

Any help would be SO much appreciated!!!

I dont have a standard letter however I feel that it would be appropriate to keep content
brief and focussed and to introduce by advising that the client has presented to you under medication and request approval to treat. I'd also briefly outline the nature of the planned treatment, indicating that in making your request, the doctor should be aware that no substance (oil or cream) that could interfer with the medication will be used - I assume that this would be the case.

I did a Certhe in adult nursing. Meaning I complete a year of the adult nursing. In that time i registered how busy doctors were. During my ITEC I produced the following drs letter with the following objectives. Not to commit them to any scheduled treatment but to give them the opportunity to object if they felt they needed to. You could register in your letter that you are aware of the clients medication.
Please note I have not yet had to send this to a Dr but used this template in my exams.

As very few doctors respond to such letters, as they are unwilling to take responsibility for a treatment they know nothing about, the FHT recommends the following.

The client asks their doctor if it is OK for them to have reflexology (or whatever therapy). The doctor is far more likely to give such advice to his patient than to a therapist. The therapists then asks the client to sign a disclaimer, confirming that they have their doctor's permission to go ahead with treatments.

I think FHT guidelines are the best line of action. Seems much more straight forward.
