does any body have any tips for a newbie to the street scene?

i got myself a 95 honda prelude h22 vtec. (i don't mess around) and i want it to be a tuner. im just having trouble deciding what to upgrade performance wise and what brands are worth it. i have been looking into skunk2 a lot and greddy but im not getting much else out of it. i also want to make my car JDM on the exterior but am having trouble finding parts for the particular model of my car. so if you have any suggestions please lemme know.

i have rebuilt my civic. its got a b18c1 in it. all new internals. re sleeved. nothing under the hood is stock. 19psi on the turbo. im now making 556whp. h22s are very very good engines to work off of. my suggestion would be to pull the motor, bring it to a shop, have it bored and re sleeved, have all new internals put in. new pistons, rods, the whole 9 yards. build the bottom and the head. new cams and shit. once you rebuild it your ready to put that bad boy back in the car. upgrade the water pump, fuel pump, get bigger injectors, new throttle body, fuel pressure regulator, then your ready to put a turbo on her! theres a lot of things you can do to build these cars. i left out A LOT of stuff but research it. http://www.honda-tech.com/ is a great website

Well, you got the H22, that's a good start. You can try HKS for performance parts. DC Sports for a header, unless you plan on turbo charging it, then hold off on that. AEM for a cold air intake. Muffler, well as I get older, I don't care for the sound of after market exhaust as much as I used to, especially in the 4 cylinder cars. I still drive my 4-cylinder Tacoma with an 18" MagnaFlow muffler I put on it about 10 years ago and I am just about sick of it. But your young, so go for it. Intake and exhaust is a good start to make the engine breathe easier. As far as JDM, I am not really sure what the JDM specs were for that car and how they differed from the states version other than they had 10 more HP than the California versions.

How much are you willing to go to make it barely street legal? There is a lot that can be done with that car.
