My family and I have just gotten interested in fishing and crabbing. We are basically looking for fishing/crabbing tips to help us get out and enjoy as a family and also bring home some supper. We live in areas where there are both salt and fresh water fishing available. We have found a spot on the intercoastal recently that we really like but have been having no luck catching anything.

What are the best times of day?
What type of bait is best for fish?
Any special types of poles, how much weight on the line?

And for crabs, what is best type of bait to catch with?
Scoop net or cast net?

Any tips would be really appreciated. Thanks
