Does Russell Pearce's religious believes have anything to do with him

introducing the racist law sb 1070? First of all, I would like to mention that the Mormon church has not given their offical comments on SB 1070 and has gone on the record that their members opionons are not nessassarly the view of the mormon Church. Now with all that said and done I will point out that Russell Pearce a devoted Mormon. He is also one that drafted the Arizona SB 1070 which is a Law that will Racially Profile Mexican Americans.

This is a passage from the Book of Mormon

And he had caused the CURSING to come upon them yea, even a sore CURSING because of their iniquity For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint: wherefore as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a SKIN of BLACKNESS to come upon them (2 Nephi 5 :21)

So the question is, do you believe that Russell Pearce's exposure to racist believe had a factor in drafting a racist Law against Mexican Americans? Given the passage from the Book of Mormon, I would not be suprised that Pearce would draft Laws against African Americans also.

His religion had nothing to do with it. Only a racist would project this kind of thought into another person.
