As most of you know I am a dog lover. Christ, I rather spend spend quiet nights with my family and mutt than to be in conversation with 90% of our acquaintances. Reading this makes me want to hire a private detective from my own money to find the cruel assholes.
What kind of people would do such mean things. Feel sorry for the family.

One minute, Mariam Arianโs family dog was running energetically around their Brampton backyard. The next, the beloved Yorkshire Terrier was bleeding profusely, dying in her husbandโs arms. Just after 9 p.m. Friday, Mickey, the Ariansโ 2-year-old companion, was shot behind their Peel Village home in what police are calling a โrandom and alarmingโ attack.
Arianโs husband and daughter were at home watching TV when they heard a loud bang come from the backyard. When they stepped outside, the dog ran over to them and collapsed at their feet. Thatโs when Arian got a horrifying call from her 6-year-old daughter, Sarah.
โShe was saying โMommy you have to come home right away. Something has happened to Mickey. He was shot, he is bleeding everywhere,โโ says Arian.
Moments later, Arian arrived home to find her husband cradling the dog in his arms. The couple rushed him to an emergency veterinary clinic โ their tiny, 7-pound dog bled all over the car.
X-rays revealed a bullet had shot through Mickeyโs lung, causing grave internal injuries. Veterinarians told Arian it would be too difficult to save his life.
โThey said it would be best to put him down,โ she said, her voice cracking. โIt is just so shocking.โ Peel police believe the dog was shot by a small-calibre weapon, likely a handgun, says Const. Adam Minnion.
The shooting appears to have been an isolated attack. Police have had no other reports of similar incidents, and thereโs no need for neighbours to lock up their pets, Minnion said. Still, investigators are trying to find out what would prompt such a crime.
โWhy it happened is a bit of a mystery right now. It seems rather unprovoked,โ Minnion said. The family agrees, saying they have had no dispute with neighbours and cannot fathom why someone would shoot their dog.
For Arian, who is currently home on disability, Mickey was a companion during lonely days at home; for her young daughter, a constant playmate.
