I contacted a client via email regarding their cc being declined for an instant gift certificate they bought. I wrote "I can call you for another card number at your convenience"....blah blah blah.... I assumed, foolishly obviously! - that everyone knows not to send cc#'s over email.
she writes me back with a new card number, and ends the email with "Please use this information securely." :roll:
I certainly will... but do you realize you just sent it over unsecure EMAIL?!!
or is that just IM's I am thinking of? ok so apparently I don't even know!! : at any rate, I think I will handle declined cc's via phone calls only, just to avoid anyone being tempted to put that delicate info in an email.
