Doing it over and over again

Having just come back phuket after 2 months and had alot of fun with all the nightlife i suppose this question came to my mind.

For you guys who have gone to Patong many times for the nightlife, do you find that the more times you have been the less of a novelty or the excitement that you felt on the first few trips gradually dies or fades away?

Secondly do you find after doing a number of trips you still like to find a different bg every night or have you moved to the situation where you only have one bg stay with you for the whole trip?

I ask this because many times at different bars i saw many guys drinking at bars but looking really bored

The novelty and excitement has never worn off for me, but that's the whole place not just the nightlife. I feel more alive in Thailand than anywhere else I have ever been.

I'm not really for discussing my habits whilst out there, each to their own, but I can't honestly say I have ever spent a minute in Thailand and wished I was somewhere else; boredom never occurs to me.

As I will be only going there this Easter as my second time - I will let you know but I think there are many places to be explored and if you show interest and curiosity this might make every visit different and exciting.
I am sure that if you show interest the locals will be very happy with you and show you many new things each time you visit.
This is probably also with BG's but that is all up2you.

Well hope you a real girl and not a girl in your dreams.

First time for me in Phuket as early 1976 on a big cargo vessel on anchorage
on the east side of the island and before Phuket town had its sea-port.
Around one hundre or so thai girls boarded the vessel for allkind of activity.

Since then have visited the island and mostly Patong each year.
Does the excitement gradually fades....yes it does...but it never dies.

The different bg....guess that reduced a bit after the big A recording
in the kingdom some years ago. But sometime we have a tendency to
bypass that fact or forget about it after midnight.

Guys does not look bored at the bars they relaxed and probably been
there for more than a month.....that is why they look cool.....then again
not bored (officially)

The only thing I can say is the longer and the more you go to Thailand, the chosier you become. Went there for the first time 91, been there 40 times since then, and I got in a lifestyle where it becomes quieter, not more like a supermarket where everything is (nearly) free, but I am more difficult to satisfy. I like to have a steady girl for my holidays, but that doesn't mean I would stop barhoppingwith friends from time to time. And my "travel companions" are better chosen than the first times.

Just out of curiousity travelgirl , are you a time traveller.

It was only 1 month ago that you were asking for advice , and saying you would be in Patong in 2 weeks.



Also , why did you not pop into the MTB and introduce yourself , after all, you had previously spent 4 months in Patong , you never know , Nicke or some of the other BMs may have known your bar owning brother. By the way , which bar was it that he owned, I may have drank their.

Perhaps if you tell us the names of the different bars you are talking about we would be able to answer your question , guess MTB was not one of those you mean.

i love Phuket, I live all of thailand mind you that i have seen and going there isnt about just going on the lash. For me (and this is just me personally) it is the whole lot the early morning starts to go and do stuff and the late night drinking. Mind you when coming back to the uk it takes about a week to get over it all lol. im planning on going back to Thailand this year Hopefully Phuket but i am not 100% sure what the other lads want to do but it will be the whole works again. I know a guy who goes over JUST for the women/drinking. I dont blame him but there is so much to see and do there is a whole lot more going on out there than just that

Been coming here for about 12 years. Each year for longer and longer. Managed 3 stints last year totalling 6 months. Never ever felt bored. Got to go back to UK on sunday because my brother is getting married valentines day :-( why he couldn't do it in July. Dreading going back to the cold and will be there for as short a time as possible. Feel more at home here
