DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - A Dothan massage therapist charged with molesting his clients pleaded guilty to a reduced charge this week, apparently ending his years of legal woes.
Court records show that Paul J. Meadows pleaded guilty to Sexual Misconduct, a misdemeanor, on Monday, and Houston County Circuit Judge Christopher K. Richardson sentenced him to 12 months – the maximum – in the county jail.
Police, in that case, charged him with Sexual Abuse – a felony.
Judge Richardson ordered that sentence to be served concurrently with two 12-month sentences handed down after jurors found Meadows guilty of two other counts of Sexual Misconduct in March.
In those cases, investigators accused Meadows of another Sexual Abuse count and Sodomy. Meadows appealed his convictions.
Dothan police alleged that Meadows secretly recorded women at Touch of Grace, the massage business he owned.
While remodeling his previously closed office, a construction crew found the recording device which sparked an investigation that revealed Meadows had sexual contact with his victims, officers said.
He must register as a sex offender.
State records show Meadows surrendered his massage license several weeks after his 2021 arrest.
