Hi all,
I'm taking my first trip to Vancouver next weekend. I will not have a car so would like to know the best places (and best value) for massage services in downtown. I'd also like to know any places that I should beware of (i.e. certain streets or neighborhoods) from a safety perspective. The only massage spas I've seen on the web are Platinum, Swedish Touch, and Madame Cleos. I don't want to go someplace where I'll get a run-around on the prices. Thanks!

Downtown Vancouver has a number of treats waiting for you, all easily walkable to (but it can be difficult to walk back!).

First, rip up and throw out the sites that you found on the web, unless you have a particular fantasy about getting ripped off that you want fulfilled.

Next, pick up a copy of the Georgia Straight and the West Ender, both of which you can find on most street corners and in most coffee shops. They are free. Turn to the back few pages.

If you are partial to Asian SP's and want great value for your money, in the downtown area you will find Derek's and Tom's places. Both run around $.40 for the visit which is about 45 minutes. My experience has been that the ladies at Tom's place are generally better looking (IMHO) but somewhat more reserved in their provision of services. More like compliance because that is what you have paid for rather than because they are into it. Tom also has the occasional caucasion. Not an issue for me, especially as I find the ASP's generally more open minded and provide better service. Tom's ad usually has a picture of a cheerleader. Further info can be obtained doing a search. Derek's info can be obtained through a search or you can ask Derek himself as he usually pays attention to this board. Both Tom and Derek's places are clean, which is a nice extra.

Check out http://vic2van.com. I have not gone there much, but I think that is only because I am a glutten for punishment. I cannot recall every being dissapointed with the services received. Cassie was my ATF though she is not there anymore. I have seen Sasha a few times. At bit of a hard edge to her and she does like to talk, but I have enjoyed my time with her. GFE, DATY, DFK, CBJ and more. I have not seen Olivia at Vic2Van but I think she may have been with Samantha's previously and I saw her there. If so, she was very open minded, including GRK and a lot of fun to be with. A few locations in and around Yaletown (Davie/Seymour area). $$.2/hr.

If you feel like a bit of a walk, crossing the Granville bridge will get you close to Mystique (ads usually in both GS and WE). This place has been around a long time with lots of turnover of the ladies. Some are great, some are awful. A mixture of all types. After swearing I would not go again, I found myself there a couple of weeks ago with Lisa. Young, slim LFK, DATY, seemed open minded and very nice to be with. Descriptions provided over the phone are part of the fantasy. Reality can be very different. Cost is $$.2/hr. Don't go for the decor and shower first as facilities are not great (might want to shower after too!).

Cross the Burrard bridge and you have Silhouette. Ditto everything said for Mystique. Decor straight out of a 70's porn movie. Shower first and afterwards. Phone descriptions even more of a fantasy than Mystique. Fortunately both places provide the line up so you can check out reality for yourself.

Vivienne, who is reviewed lots on the escort review is also, I believe across the Burrard bridge. I have not seen her since she came back to Silhouette and then went indy. I did see her a couple of years ago a few times when she was at Silhouette and would highly recommend her. A few restrictions but made up for in attitude, great accent and fun to be with.

Then, if you want to take a bus or skytrain to metrotown, there is http://carmenfox.com. Pricier at $$$.2/hr but can be worth it. I have only seen Claudia but I keep going back. Great surroundings/rooms and great time. Watch the reviews as some SP's may not be exactly as advertised.

Of course as always, YMMV and everything is IMHO. To put my view into perspective, I am mid 40's (which is a great age as all women are appealing - when I was younger, only younger women were attractive!). My preference is for slimmer ladies in their later 20's earlier 30's, all natural. I prefer smaller breasts to larger ones (triple GGG's don't do it for me - I consider them dangerous!). I prefer the girl next door look. I look for a GFE experience and not an SE (spousal experience - all requests turned down! I can stay home for that) which to me includes at least LFK, DATY, MSOG, and an attitude that says she wants to be there, not that she has to be there.

Hope that helps. I think you will find that some research on the board shows that my suggestions are not out of line with what others have said before me. IMHO I do think a lot of the descriptions that I read on the board are the repeated fantasies of the the phone ladies from Mystique and Silhouette - i.e. in general I take a point off the points eforum.xxxites give the SP's. That way my expectations are either met or surpassed in most cases.
