I went over to Red Bird today (off East Wilmot) in the East Beaver Creek area, and rang the bell once.....after 2 minutes of silence, no answer.
I rang the bell a second time, could hear female voices inside, and then the door opened and to my amazement a fairly tall guy comes to the doorway, and the conversation goes like this....
(officer) "are you looking for a massage?"
(me) yes I am
(officer) "well today is not a good day to be here. I am with York Region Police, and we are charging this premise for not having a valid license.
(me) So how come there are all kinds of massage places around here (including next door) with OPEN signs on them? How would I know if they are legal or not?
(officer) "well if we charge the premise while you are a client, you will be charged as a found-in". They are legally required to post their license in the entranceway, and the burden is on you to make sure it is posted, otherwise you should leave. We will be attempting to close ALL the massage parlours in this area."
There is not a single massage parlour in this area that has a license. (note, I thought IT was an exception)
