EBC- What happened to it?

EBC-- not much news on here these days. Haven't been in ages... What's happened to the area? And where are the faves such as Candy (Time), ICE (Tip Top), Gina (Tip Top), Nicky (Tip Top), Melanie (Time) etc...????

well, a number of places have closed down - when i drove around a few weeks back i was surprised at how few places were still around. many of the ones left seemed very cautious about who they let in...

part of this is also the lack of good talent at the places that are still open - and i think that perhpas people have wised up about posting too much info!

I think that EBC was doomed once they started seriously developing the area around it. Residential developments, restaurants, businesses, the mall, movie theatre, etc... I am quite sure that Richmond Hill Town Hall is right across the street...

I worked in that area and used the Purolator courier alot about 8 or 9 years ago. That area was pretty quiet, so the visibility was minimal. I am not sure if the MPs were operating at that time, as I did not even know the hobby existed. But everytime I went to that mall, my spider sense was tingling...

I was shocked the first time I went to EBC for a visit to Time Spa and realized that I had been to this strip mall on a daily basis so many years ago.

These types of areas never survive close to residential developments.

The death of EBC has only been in recent months. The area is almost 100 per cent industrial except for the stuff around city hall all of which has been there for many years with the exception of one condo which went up last year.

The demise has little to do with so called sprawl and probably more to do with LE and the York Region crackdown.

An industrial area like East Beaver Creek is still a perfect spot for MPs just not in the current political and moral environment.

Just my 2 cents.

Yupe it is the crackdown. After the murders and the high number of illegals LE has to start to police this stuff. MP's (in York Region at least) jumped into the public spotlight. And once in the spot light LE has to start to make arrests.

I can see by the number of people who've read this post that EBC is sorely missed by many. Anyone want to contribute some thoughts?

EBC posts are now sounding like nostalgic Fantasia-like posts.

I will remember a certain wild west feel to MP Alley during their hay-day.
I visited one of the establishments on that inner corridor...and a week later was back to try a different one. I was heading to the door, almost ready to enter, when the door of the place across the way flew open and I heard myself being called.
"Hey lover, you no want to come back and see me? Don't go there, those girls no good...I know you...I do good, Yes? Even better this time."
This was yelled across the parking lot at about 5:00 PM.
So much for anonymity...let alone subtlety!
I blushed like Charlie Brown, hung my head, and obeyed the call.
