Emg Tests

Hi All.
I had a EMG test done last week to find out my back pain, along with this i have no feeling in my left leg and i have to look to see where i am putting my foot, my neuroligist sent me for this test and during the test the Dr performing it could not get me to feel any pulses down my leg, so he inserted the fine needles into my lower back amd placed an electrode pad on my ankle, his conclusion was i had damaged nerves in my lumbar region, could someone explain why he said this and a possible reason for the non feeling in my leg.
Also the neuroligist had a ultra sound done on my abdomen, don,t know why.

Thanks for the reply, all he said was i have the damaged nerves and when i asked why that affects my leg he said the results will go to my consultant, i injured my back in dec. 06 pulling and twisting a out of control trolly, i had MRI,s which were clear, my GP saying theirs nothing wrong and all of a sudden i have a diagnosis.The specialist doing the test was telling me what he was going to do but would not explain why and i dont even know why i went for a ultra sound ( in a maternity ward )

So it's been over a year of pain for you. That's awful. As I said, I don't know anything about any of this stuff but I feel for you and wish you well.
