Hi Andy - emotional reflexology - i totally resonate with that statement
throughout my work, even from day one in training college - I have found somehow - to be blessed/aware of the emotional aspects held within the feet. To me it feels like part of the tactile & visual analysis , its kinda just there, i feel it, its almost like I just know it ( which may sound bizarre , its not an educated thing, its an instinctive thing )
Reaching all these emotional trials, at first was a little scary - wondering why everyone seems to reach emotional depths when just simply foot walking - I actually can feel through the fingers the sensation of the emotional aspects rising to the surface. When working it seems like the whole life experiences are locked within the feet - just waiting for the opportunity to be released. . . but when clients are least expecting it ,
it can be a little daunting -
However now - i just tell all clients to go along with whatever they may feel, that if they want to cry~ cry ! , laugh , fly etc ~ whatever is right for them is 'normal ' . As word of mouth does tend to lean cleints to what they need from their treatments -thsu many times there will be no pysical reason why a person has come for an app.
I havent read Stormers books- i have them - but because i felt, feel so much from intuition - to have read more at that early stage during training perhaps may have knocked my confidence especially as I was struggling anyway with my findings as my tutor was very clinically orientated !
Now i think, perhaps there is no strict rule about emotions -
( also what i didnt want to find was that I was wrong - as I was getting such great results ,) reaching so many people from all walks of life - thus having access to hand - many books put together.
I feel comfortable with what i do - although i do find many patterns do match, many areas do represent emotional crisis of some kind but as there is no one person alike you will find their journeys differing so there will be other emotional issues -ie. so although the lung area may be full of grief you may find also that the liver has swallowed soo much anger that you have much more to deal with than the initial first impression - ie. scar. deep, hurt loss shock.
Really when we say HOLISTIC - that is exactly what we work within- the whole self - physical & emotional and as time passes by & your memory links in & records all you do & all feet you meet - you will have a wonderful encylopedia of emotional knowledge, gained simply from holding touching & meeting the feet - as then once you meet the feet - you greet the whole person - you access depths that even they have forgotten about. Amazing occurances are triggered - one client a few weeks ago - her feet were sooo different - almost as if she were two different people - i explained i needed a little help & could i ask her some questions as what her feet were telling me bared no resemblence to her consultation form . She answered a few questions - what a difference it made to the treatment & outcome . Basically she had been severely beated up by her ex. she'd had post traumatic stress with treatment from psychiatry-but was now fine had moved on & had a new baby with a new partner. Well only thing is she hadnt moved on - she held all emotions
& didnt deal with them - the post traumatic stress was still trapped within but she'd closed the door - unresloved ! Next app - she came & said when she woke up the following day all her physical scars from the beatings had re surfaced, that although she was initially shocked she then sat down & wrote a six page story of her trials & tribulations - she said never before had she been able to write with such clarity & continuous flow - never once had she even the incline to write.
Poignantly she then copied them & handed a copy to her perents , her friends & a *magazine so she could tell people her story
*& to give hope , that you can get through it !
This is one example of many - this can be a daily occurance if you can work within the emotional a
