before i start i'm not aiming this at anyone but it seems that every thread has some body moaning about how much they pay for this and how much they pay for that. i think that enchanging wherabouts of good/cheap hotels, restaurants and even girls is great but when people slag off girls and even give names and where they work i think this is a bit low.

we have to remember that they dont have the best job in the world and a short shelf life within which to make their money, if they con extract an extra 500 baht for their (come on now very very valuable) service then fair play to them. we go over there to enjoy the girls and they in turn make money from them. from personal experience if you get a girl quoting you silly money to go with you then that usually means that they dont like you and you should really go and find another one(never happened to me though just what the girls have told me) this is thier way of saying f**k off your ugly politely.

sorry for the rant fellas but we should be happy a place like this is there for us. enjoy it and pay the money after all what is an extra £7.50.

I fully agree with your points. While we enjoy in LOS but at the same time we should also be more considerate regarding the local people...afterall we all are human beings which mean we have to treat them fairly if their services provided are good/reasonable. On the other hand, we also don't want us to be over-charged. Therefore, to share our experience here so as to compare the price/service is encouragable and hope that all MB would only consider the good side of views given.

If we were really interested in treating them fairly, we'd be paying them at least ten times the going rate. On average, most goods and service are about 5 times more expensive here in US. However, a prostitute who gets 1000 Baht per night there, could get at least $250 per hour here. A BG who can get 2000 Baht per night in LOS would be in the $400-$500 per hour range here. There are websites where the girls here post their prices, complete with reviews of their attitude, the appearance of their apartment, and the details of their performance, and rating of its' quality. Nor do they object to being thusly scrutinized, because it is free publicity, and their websites and telephone numbers are given, as well. I don't personally enjoy their services(can't afford to), but out of prurient curiosity, I have researched the subject and can give you the web address of one such site if you care to research it yourself.
It is also my understanding that the going rate for high-class pussy to rent it for the the night is in the $2500 - $3000 range. That is a 40 to one ratio campared to a BG you would pay 3000 Baht to. The ratio is between at least 100 to one compared to a 1000 Baht BG.
Interestingly enough, my only experience w/ a prostitute here in the last 10 years was a year ago when I had just returned from LOS. I was raving about the great massages I had there, and a lady friend said, "There is a Thai massage place in San Anselmo if you can't wait til you go back. A couple weeks later, badly in need of a massage, I checked it out. As soon as I entered, I knew there was more than a massage involved, coz I was greeted by a little Asian goddess in tight slinky dress. She looked like a top-notch BG. I paid her $45 for a "massage"(more like a back rub) that lasted 15 minutes at most, before she asked if I wanted any extras. She was way too fine and I was way too horny, but even so I had a budget to hold to, and it took quite a bit of tough bargaining to get her down to $100. I had to literally run down the street to the bank to get the money. Then we did it every which way and it was great, and she was nice to me, but it still was not like being with a BG. When you are in and out in 45 minutes including running to the bank and back, it still feels like strictly business no matter how nice she treated me, coz I was on the street $145 lighter in a very short time(time flies when you're getting done). So figure out that ratio. If I'd have paid even close to what she asked it would be astronomical!!! (BTW she was Vietnamese and said the other girls there were Chinese, none Thai).
Bottom line - It's supply and demand, my friend. The BGs will get us for whatever the market will bear. So there's no reason that we should behave otherwise. Those of us who can afford to go half way around the world to enjoy the charms of these lovely and charming ladies are very fortunate fellows, indeed!! But when you look at the average wages for workers in LOS and consider the level of education and skills of the BGs, they are not doing so bad, either!! And if they should be so lucky as to snag a husband or "sponsor", then BINGO, jackpot!!! It's all part of the game we play with them. Not stricly business and that is why I love them!! :biggrinlo

I dont live in America.. I dont live in Europe... I live in Thailand !! If the local price is X and you are charged X + for the same service you are overpaying. If you are getting better service for X then its a bargain and tips or other compensation are deserved.

All perfectly fine and valid to discuss and should not be viewed as complaints.

sorry fellas i think a few of you have misunderstood what i meant, i said it is good to exchange the best places to go and how to save a little money. all i meant was the girls give you a price if you pay it then you cant complain that you have been ripped off it was your choice to take them up on the offer.

Thanks for reading my post, Livin. I agree with what you say, and am a little bit jealous, coz I don't live in LOS. The info on prices in US is just a bit of trivia I threw in there. Sorry if I bored you with it.The only relevance of what things cost in US or Cambodia or Laos is to point out that most things are relative, in this case relative to where you are. Also, what constitutes treating someone fairly is relative, as well. For example, there are those who would tell you that all "working girls" are poor souls who are unfairly exploited and degraded by evil men(an opinion that I think most of us would disagree with). As I said, I don't think that the BGs are compensated unfairly relative to what other workers make in LOS, and relative to their education and skill levels.

steve sounds like you've had a few purchases from patong that have not proformed there function properly, i know the feeling.
anyway it's good to have a few complaints because if no one ever complained and said about there bad experiences then all the new bee's would hit the ground very hard if they got riped off and they would label all bar girls the same which is never the case. at least the more experienced tour regulars can point out a few things to look out for and a void any trouble on there holidays.
i've been to los a fair few times and one thing that i gauge a bar girl on is i always ask the bar fine price even though i know it's 200 baht but it's good to hear what they say and before a buy loads of drink for her and she says she will only do short time or charge 2000baht ect.
steve you remember the bar next to mai thai, how many drinks did you buy when trying to sort out the price for her. them tequila did not last to long did they ha ha.

hi mate long time since you replied here.
i find out tomorow if i go back xmas,i should be there 22 dec til 9 jan,but will be going to pattaya from about 2 jan for about a week.need to goto pattayya,a few mates i no have just returned and it sounds awesome.what about you?i have had to buy a full price ticket which is a shame,but i cant use my staff travel at xmas so thats the only way i could get round it.bit pricey tho,price from hethrow bangkok and then bangkok phuket is 650 quid.
