Equine Massage

Hello..it's been a while since I have written. I'm looking to go into horse massage but can't seem to find any schools or classes in the Atlanta, GA area? Does anyone know how or where I can find out more info on this?

I already plan on purchasing many books on the subject and hope to practice on a friends horse...getting my name out in the community. I'm a CMT and would love to do both animal massage and people.

I spent several years Rolfing race horses....
I firmly believe that myofascial work is much more effective for equine orthopedics.
I grew up on a horse farm and therefore have no problems with working with horses....

I second junglelord's comment. I do equine myofascial release. Very effective and horses love it!

check out http://www.myofascialrelease.com, I think there is a link for equine there. The classes are intermittent and spread around the country.

I have been looking at doing equine therapy myself and have looked for schools - while there are several about - 2 in CO, 1 in VA and another in FL, I haven't found any courses in the Atlanta region.

Here is the one in Florida that was recommended to me by another board member and that I am looking at attending next fall:

Ditto. Can relate very well to animals, and in particular horses and dogs. Have been practicing on my own 2 dogs, and they both MOAN every time, lol!! I love giving them massages early in the am, when they first wake up. Would definitely be interested in investigating the equine massage. Lot of horses here in VA.
