I was chatting with Friend X. I only had his chat button open as I make several lists and he is on his own list exclusively. All others were off. My chat idled slightly and a few of his responses came to me via the little chat icon at the top left. Okay, no problem.

However, when we done chatting, a few minutes later I saw the button light up red. I clicked on it and one of my responses to him was there ONLY it was on the chat list of another of my friends. How could this have happened? I am paranoid that this happened with other friends. My conversation with X is very private.
 
You could find out by asking your friend (not X, the other) if he/she got a message from you that he/she did not understand. If he/she did, then you know
