fainting feelings..

Hi there

When my sis in law was in labour, I happened to be there to help her, she had been in labour for the whole day and I arrived some 10 hours later, her
contractions were pretty close but it was a long labour.

I was supporting her legs and literally was holding them to take the weight of my sis in law, very soon after this i started to to feel dizzy and had fainting feelings, and I had to let go and sit down myself, which I felt very embarrased about as I was absolutly fine before I got to her, after a while I got up and held her hand and again i had the same feeling that i was going to faint and my legs felt like they were going to give way. So again I sat down and the nurse menitoned I looked pale, so i had a doughnut as there happend to be some there, after eating this I felt alot better and the nurse commented that i had some colour back in me now.

What would your thoughts be on the way I was feeling .. the feelings seem to happen on skin connection to my sis in law.. do you think she was sucking energy from me??

Some hours later she delivered a girl by natural birth with a tear and the baby was born the same day as her father (my bro).

Hiya

Sounds like a combination of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) and the situation. Mind you if I were in that situation myself I'd faint regardless of how much I'd eaten - the business end of a birth is not the prettiest sight!
