famous dj s?

hi,

am travelling around in malaysia for the moment and will heading up to KL where I stay for 3 nights. DJ Tiesto will be playing there the day after I leave. So bad luck. Afterwards I ll stay for 3 nights in Singapore and heading on for Phuket where I arrive the 16 th and leave the 23 th about noon.

Is there a possibility some famous dj s comming to Phuket during my 1 week stay?

I can only speak from my Patong experience, not the whole of Phuket as an island.
I have never seen any well known DJ's on any bill out that way, let alone actually play in one of the clubs. You have lots of clubs to choose from in Patong... Tiger, Hollywood, Seduction, Thai Pan, Club Lime, Banana club etc but most of the music is cheesy electro pop remixes of things like Rhianna.
I love my house music but to be honest you dont go to Thailand to experience cutting edge dance music, although it would be brilliant if more international acts ventured out of Bangkok!!!
808 club in Bangkok has well known international DJ's flying through quite reguarly though, and i think is the only place in Thailand i have had the sort of night, in terms of quality dance music that you could compare to a club in europe.
Dont get too disheartened though, you will have LOTS of fun in the clubs in Patong, although if you wanted to go purely for the music you may be a little disapointed.
However i could be wrong? If any BM's know of international DJ's that stop in Phuket and where they are DJing i would love to know also, as i go to Patong every 3 months as my girlfriend runs a business there and would love a quality night out music wise!!!

Phuket has the odd big name DJ and seems to be slowly clocking on to the house scene,not just the comercial [email protected]k out seduction and lime.
Samui from my experience attracts more numbers of 'big name' DJ's.....clubs Mint and gecko to name a couple of venues.
bangkok and patts play good house music in the clubs if u catch the right night in the right club.......Q bar,bed super club for bangers and hammer,insomnia in patts
Best thing to do is suss out the bigger clubs and check their websites.

Its starting.. Lime being probably the most advanced and seduction throwing in the odd big name.. The Surin place (stereo lab ??) is trying to do similar but I doubt its ability to pull crowds that can in turn pay big name bookings.

As said Samui has a much more entrenched scene.. Had a blinder of a new year with Brandon Block, and a huge lineup at Gecko one year..

same as that,after u recomended the place......one of the best ,if not the best NYE i've ever had.........danny rampling(hanging up his headphones set) and lisa loud supplying the beats.
