How do you deal with these aholes?! Called cops couple times, they showed up after an hour but once the cops left, after about 10 minutes, they turned up the volume of their idiot music higher again!

Do you have the 'Evil Gene'? I do. You need to get nasty and violent to teach these fuckers a lesson. Being quiet is not a privilege it's a god damn right! And anyone who disrupts or disrespects your personal space via - noise should be inconvenienced the same......if not more.

Here's what i would do.

Slip a very polite letter under their door, saying; Please Keep the noise down I'm having trouble sleeping . And then take a sledge hammer to their door 5 or 6 times and go back to bed.

If the noise keeps happening.......Dress in black with a Balaclava.....knock on their door and hammer them in the fucking head with the sledge hammer, knocking them out. Make sure you yell "BE THE FUCK QUIET!"

Other things that work: cut their power! It's the bylaw enforcement that you really need to get ahold of because noise bylaws are issued at any time of the day.

Now, if they discussed with you their party intentions or invited you, would you be more understanding. Talk to them when they're sober.

If they are renters, then let their landlord know that there is a problem. This works better when you phone at midnight when the noise is happening.

It wasn't mentioned whether you're in a house, apartment or condo. Really doesn't matter though, the by-laws apply equally.

The basic gist is that no one is permitted (without a permit) to have any type of noise be transmitted outside their property lines (in an apartment that is the interior of the demising walls). This applies to cooking odors as well.

Now it gets a little grey as there are designated times when noise is permitted. This is to allow people to do things like mow their law, work on their deck, renovate etc. THE quiet time is typically 11 pm where NO noise of any sort is allowed. The start time varies depending on the day of the week though.

This is one of the biggest problems with living in an urban setting which is one of the top 3 reasons I got the fuck outta toronto. I got tired of music at 3 am, barking dogs, crackheads arguing in the alley, construction, light infiltration (an office opened across the way from me and NEVER turned their lights off....at 2 am it was like daylight in my place).

Call a third time. The rule is they get two warnings, then a ticket/fine then are demanded to appear before a judge/justice to explain why they can't stfu.

Keep calling the cops, sooner or later the cops will get tired of going and take it to the next level.

I know you'd be tempted to fight fire with fire but I had noisy neighbours above me in an apartment and even though I called the cops repeatedly (and rarely showed) I cranked up my tunes and THEN the cops showed up when THEY called on ME. The thing was, the neighbours above worked evenings and came home at 2 am and started WWF wrestling. When I was moving out I woke them up at 8 am and they were leaning out the window yelling at me to STFU. OH man, I said to them "you want to come down here and say that to my face? If you don't close your fucking window, I'll come up there and shut you up.....YOU'RE the reason I'm moving out, and I was here for 10 yrs before YOU assholes moved in" Then one of the guys helping me yelled up to him "he's serious, he WILL break your door down so I suggest you go back into your unit NOW"....

I"m in a noisy business. When I'm working on someone's place I do NOT work before 9 am or after 5. NEVER. I've had customers complain that I stop early and start late but I said "neither you or I want to get noise complaints so this is how it is....".

I just remembered another thing. I lived in an older building and each unit had their own hydro meter in the laundry room. It was all set behind a lattice gate/wall. I remember one time I rod a rod, bent the end into a hook, and pulled the main on them.....oh that didn't go over well, but at least it was quiet for a while lol.....

A few helpful suggestions,

a little dog shit or your own feces spread on the bottom side of their door handle,

a sticker of a swastika placed on the outside of their apartment door or
if they are not gay, a poster cheering gay rights placed on their front door,

if it's a home, snatch a for sale sign off someone else lawn and place it in their lawn,

a big sign on their front door stating
Blowjobs are free, anal penetration promotion only $50.00.

Do all these things once a week and they will be gone within the month.

Something many don't consider: if you go the tough guy route, THEY may be tougher than you and want to take it to the next level.

Very good point Tboy but look at the poor Chinese shop keeper that kept calling the police and had to take matters into his own hands only to have the cops turn on him.:grrrrrr:

Some of the methods expressed here are too extreme and I would try more tactful methods first.

I think the problem with that example is they went just a little too far, instead of driving him directly to the nearest police station they kept him locked in the back of a van for x hours. PLus I think they roughed him up some......

The thing is, it's a fine line to walk when you take matters into your own hands. If the OP is willing to go all the way, then more power to him.
