Hey everyone:I made it!!..Graduated November 11th, took my National Certs 12/30th and passed HAPPY NEW YEAR! and PRAISE GOD!Does anyone out there work specifically with Fibromyalgia clients or have a lot of experience with working with them?I would like to start my practice off by offering Swedish and Neuromuscular Therapy and offer mixture of relaxation massage and create "Wellness"programs designed to address stress reduction and pain management.  I'd like to specialize in a couple of conditions in addition to offering relaxation  ..1 being Fibromylagia..I had an opportunity during my internship to work on a couple of clients and have been reading up on this condition need ideas on how to reach clients who can benefit from what I have to offer.Wanted to know what experiences any one is having!Any comments would be appreciated!Thanksdanema

in general, i have found that what is soothing and comforting to each sufferer of this condition is as different as it is for any other client.i think your client's preferences/feedback will go a long way in deciding each person's treatment plan.p.s. congrats on your healing future!  ;D

congrats on your accomplishments!i work with quite a few clients who suffer from fibromyalgia and i would say the only thing that i have noticed is that you can use way more pressure than i had orginally anticipated.  now of course every client is different but i always thought that they wouldn't like the deep work...but they do and they can handle it...from my experiences anyway.  but as i stated, every client is unique in their needs and what they can handle.

I have a few clients with FMS too. It just depends on the client. I try to allot extra time for them though... as I tend to take things slower with them. I also ask them to give me lots of feedback... because their pain levels vary so much from one day to another.Congrats on your graduation and passing your nationals!  ;D

Congrats danema. ;D.....I just got my Acceptance to test today in the mail.......have to clear some things up and I will be testing VERY Soon......Let It Be that I have what is needed to Pass 1st Time God  There Sure are lots of different threads on Fibromyalgia!  Maybe there needs to be Pathology Specific Section on the Message Board???  Every client is different......I find Swedish and Relaxation Massage work really well with my clients that suffer from this.Hope thats of help!!!
