Finding work

Hi

I will hopefully qualify as a Reflexologist next month and i just have no idea how i am going to get work. Can anyone share with me thier experiences of finding work when they first qualified? I would prefer to work for someone rather than be self employed.

Just some thoughts....
Have you considered contacting established reflexologists in your area and asking if they would take you on? Or maybe your local health centres, gyms, beauty salons, etc.?

How about approaching holistic centres and renting a room? One evening a week to begin with then see how it goes?

Word of mouth is a great thing, you'll build up that way - it'll take time but it will happen...

Hello. not sure what its like in the city but its difficult to be employed as a reflexologist out of town and I expect that the pay would not be too good either. I qualified about 10 years ago and was lucky enough to get a placement in the healing centre/school where I trained. The next place I found was a room within a crystal shop and healing centre, that was very good because I also worked in the shop and was able to chat up people as they came in. It can be very hard to start off with but it will build.
Working from home is good because I am my own boss and can allow 90 minutes per client or even longer, its less stress for me and better for the client

It is very hard starting off, i qualified last year and have advertised but really havent gained many clients, but slowly working at it......

Another idea that i tend to do that has brought me a few clients is to mention in conversation when talking to people in various situations...walking dog etc that you are a Reflexologist and they will usually start asking about it and take a number for making an appointment..........

My aim is 10 per week, and most I have done in last year would be 4 per week, but to me that better than I thought it would be in first year...
