Albuquerque Police announced in a news conference that fingerprint evidence has tied Raphael Marquez to the homicide at Canna Spa Massage on February 15. Police say homicide detectives received information from the public that Marquez admitted to killing an employee at the spa. APD officers found the black truck that was shown in surveillance video fleeing the scene. Police say fingerprints found at the spa and in the truck matched Marquez's fingerprints. Marquez was shot and killed by police near Belen on February 25 following a pursuit. Police say Marquez is also connected to the the violent crime spree in Albuquerque on February 20. Police say Marquez is also a person of interest in a homicide on December 24. Marquez also had several outstanding warrants for two home burglaries and a separate incident from September 2021 where police say he stole a purse with $3000 in cash and $2,500 in property.
