A fire damaged a massage parlor in Modesto’s airport neighborhood Monday.
The fire started around noon in an office at Yosemite Health Massage in the 100 block of North Santa Cruz Avenue.
The first crews on scene found smoke billowing from the front door, said Modesto Fire Department spokeswoman Jessica Smart. Firefighters had to force entry into the business, which was unoccupied, she said.
The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the office, but smoke caused damage to contents of the neighboring business, Blue Goose Antiques & Collectibles.
The fire caused an estimated $8,000 in damage, authorities said. The cause is under investigation.
