Fleece table pads

What, in your opinion, is the best fleece you can get for your massage table?
Should I go with a place that sells for massage tables (like earthlite.com) or try to find one that fits a normal twin sized bed?

Oh boy, hadn't even thought about that. Probably synthetic... who knows if a client could be allergic to the natural stuff!

I would get one thats made for a massage table, otherwise you might be tucking or clasping alot of extra material.

Well, natural wool fleece pads are supposed to be able to help keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. (And yes, I do have a natural wool one.)
But would the synthetic one have the same heating and cooling properties?

With the sheet between the fleece and the client, allergies probably won't be an issue. There are people who will be allergic to the synthetics, too. I agree with Maestra, too. Real wool will be more than extra padding. It will help the client maintain a more comfortable temperature. I would definitely get one fitted for the massage table.

I imagine that synthetic "wool" would for sure help keep a person warm. Basing my thoughts on a fleece blanket, you know, the soft fleece that is for sale nearly anywhere, get a 50"X60" blanket for $4, it would not help keep a person cool. I'd do a scientfic experiment, but it's too hot here today!

I say if you can afford it, go for wool, those that are against using oil for stuff will like it better. Wonder what vegans would think?

I use Earthlite's Deluxe Fitted Fleece Pad Set, and I love it. It's cushiony, covers all table edges, and includes a face cradle fleece cover as well:

At home, I have a natural wool "SnugFleece" cover for my bed. It's the cadillac of fleece pads, and quite expensive. I love it, BUT it had a strong lanolin smell that took months to fade. I would have felt self-conscious having such a strong scent in the massage room. For the reason, I recommend going with synthetic pads for massage table covers.

Yes, if it doesn't say "wool" it's synthetic. Another thing to consider is that there's different grades of quality between synthetic fleece pads. For example, I bought one from massage warehouse when I first started my practice, and it worked fine. But when I replaced it with the Earthlite deluxe version, it was a dramatic improvement. To me, it's worth the extra $10, especially since they last so long.

P.S. I don't work for Earthlite. They just make good products!
