Foot Spas

Hello everybody. This is my first post here. [sm=hidesbehindsofa.gif]

Iam a reflexology novice! I will bestarting a reflexology course in September.

I've been following all threads on here, but the one entitled 'to clean or not to clean' raises the subject of foot spas. I've been looking at the various ones available, and wonder which one/ones you would recommend?

I have a Bio Detox Foot Spa but I dont tend to use it with my Reflexology clients. For me it would just take too long ~ my full session lasts an 1 1/4 hours at least (Inormally use auricular acupuncture at the same time ) and if I were to be putting clients feet in a foot spa we would be there for ages !!!

Wipes work well for me !!

Hi Footsie,

I don't use a foot spa either, as I am mobile, but I have heard that some reflexologists use these, but then charge extra for the time. Like Meridianmoon, I too use wipes, and have never really had a problem!!

Hi Footsie,

Welcome, I am fairly new here too.

I used to have one of those bubbling Conair foot bath machines that vibrated and had heat. It was a real pain in the glutes to clean (because of the airholes), and keep sanitary so I moved on to a sink pan liner (by Rubbermaid I think), and put a bag of marbles in the bottom. The soak is only 5-12 minutes long, and gives me a chance to get an update on their health while they are soaking, I've worked it nicely into my sessions.

However, when I am mobile I prefer the sanitary wipes, or a more natural antibacterial hand gel like that of Method's Eucalyptus and Mint.

I find that these kind of detox foot spa's work well enough as a complete treatment on there own. I've sometimes combined it with other treatments but find that they are enough of a treatment to be done on there own.
