For a backpacker, what is the fastest way to get from Bangkok to Sukhothai and

later to Chiang Mai? Hello everybody,

What do you find the best/quickest/most beautiful method to get from Bangkok to Sukhothai and later to Chiang Mai?

We want to visit Sukhothai Historical Park and then go to Chiang Mai for a couple of days.
We have only 2 weeks so our time is limited.

Please advice us.

There are VIP buses that go to the Historical Park from Bkk - I assume leaving from Mo Chit the Northern Bus Terminal. The buses going north are mostly quite nice - then from Sukhothai there are buses to CM -

I love going to Sukhothai and renting a bicycle [ abt $1 ] and riding around the park - it's beautiful.
 
Fastest and most convenient would be a minivan. Check around Victory Monument and you will probably find one.
