How is your business set up?

How do you work?  

Where do you do your work?

--I'm a sole proprietor, though a good friend of mine who is a lawyer would (I'm sure) recommend some kind of limited liability setup.

--I was one of 2 MTs in our office, but now I'm the only MT.

--I rent a room at a fitness facility that has personal training, yoga & Pilates classes, a physical therapist, an acupuncturist, and massage (by yours truly). But someday, I would love to have my own small massage clinic with yoga, & martial arts (courtesy of my husband).

Single Proprietor, going for LLC in Atlanta.I work alone, so far, so good....  8)I do onsite work for the most part, and soley by referral.

Sole Proprietor - looking into LLCOne-man show - I share an office with a PT.  There is some cross-promotion, but no direct referrals as she does her own massage.My practice wants to be like Big Dog's when it grows up!  (Multiple therapists working for me)  BTW, BD are they employees or independent contractors?Pete

three are employees, one is an IC (she has been with me the longest).  At site two I am a vendor.  I work with them but not for them (me and the PT's are the same that way)

Right now I am an LLC...I do all my work onsite...In a few months, we will be in our new state... who knows where I will be at???   8)

Amy,Good Luck moving to your news state! Make sure you do your research, really deeply about where you're moving to! That is the one thing I've learned moving here, to MA. I had the state reqiurements, but didn't check into the city requirements. Now that I am moving to GA, I looked into both state and county requirements, and happily I have everything I need.Once again, good luck, and let us know how you are doing!

Carl Jung said, "Our vision will become clear only when we can look into our own hearts. He who looks outside, dreams. He who looks inside, wakes." I have office in my home.  Next month I will also be renting a space in a beauty shoppe, so will have 2 places to work out of.  Still working my "day job" as an RN part time.  Would love to hear from others that had to decide when the right time was to  quit their job and devote full time to bodywork!  I find it hard to switch gears and find the energy to dream and promote my massage work.  Part of it is simply wanting so badly to do this full time and being impatient. Anybody willing to share their experience making the jump??Thank you!
