This amateur cinematography pisses me off for two reasons:

1.) Someon'es privacy will be compromised, which could lead to a loss of job, divorce or other negative consequences and

2. It attracts yet more unwanted attention to the prostitution scene in C.R.

In another thread there has been discussion about not becoming too public with our hobby, e.g., being showy, pretentious, flamboyant and ostentatious. It is an invitation to scrutiny, regulation and enforcement.

A red sports car sped by a traffic officer and flipped the middle finger. Do you think the driver got a ticket?

The posting of videos on a very public website such as You Tube is just that type of invitation. Want problems? Who ever put those posts on YT is putting it (hobby and individuals) all at risk.

To assume that law enforcement and do-gooder organizations do not monitor sites such as YT and CRT is to grossly underestimate those who would do away with our freedom to pursue our hobby in CR in peace and security. Never underestimate the zeal and commitment of a religious do-gooder zealot.

It all goes back to the immortal story of The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg. I guess the story is immortal because the foolish continue to violate its simple lessons.

If you know the person who posted the stuff on YT, please ask them to take it down. We don't need more attention at this time, particularly since the Minister of Security appears to be in the initial stages of exercising anti-hobby zeal.

Big difference though. Our telephone calls may be monitored by law enforcement/intelligence agents...but anyone can go to youtube, a wife, a boss, a member of one's church congregation, a patient or client... In short, there are many more chances for discovery than wiretapping.

I can probably rig up something to record your phone calls surreptitiously, but that would be breaking the law, would cost money for equipment and take time. OTOH, doing a quick search on youtube could bring up this video in seconds.

I absolutely couldn't agree more. I had someone give me that bullsh*t line just a few days ago. Spineless sheep we are. "Let it never be said that no one cared."

Oh, as for the videos. We should all consider the society we live in these days. Information is everywhere. Little to no privacy. If you are lurking in the HDR you should realize that something like this might happen. I am against making it public. Certainly if the vids were posted for malicious reasons or with the intent to embarrass someone. (Do a search on youtube.com for "the video vigilante oklahoma city. IMHO, he is scum.) However, I posted one of those above mentioned links in another thread some time ago. So, beat my ass for my hypocrisy. But, I did request Admin to remove it if it was inappropriate.

El C as always, I respect your opinion but I am not just a New Yourker but a ex-service man and just pray that we never have to have a day like that again. And if our government could have stopped and did not I am ashamed But if they needed this authority to prevent I hope they have it 8)
