disturbing bit of news.

I just heard about this have I been in my cave too long or is this news to most of us?

Why won't the Government hire professional hackers to assist them on how they cannot be hacked. Do i make any sense?.

I assume they feel that all knowledge is power or has some value to someone.

I think the point was to get the key passwords, who knows what they may have come across that may have been useful to industrial espionage at the very least.

Im with you POPeye, spend some of that gravy on cyber security, keeps the hackers busy in a quasi productive way....probably all hired by the chinese, russians and yanks already :

The key paragraph in that story was how they gained access via emails requesting passwords.....any government official who fell for that should be summarily fired and all benefits etc stopped immediately. How stupid do you have to be to fall for that crap? Too stupid to be working for the government IMO.......

This reminds me of a co-worker who got nailed by the "I love you" virus. He was sent an email from a female customer of mine and in his arrogance, thought she was letting him know something.....it ended up costing the company years of photo records and thousands of dollars to have a computer whiz try and retrieve the damaged files.

I asked him WTF were you thinking? He said "well, I always thought she had a thing for me...." LMMFAO......

(btw I got the same email and deleted it immediately because I knew that no one in their right mind would do something like that).

But I had also heard on the news that they were focusing some attention on areas of the country with high percentages of new arrival or dissident chinese populations
