FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Fort Myers massage therapist was sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of sexual battery.

According to the state attorney’s office, Jeffrey Scott Kaplan, 69, was employed at a massage therapy business in April 2022 until the incident.

The victim was being touched inappropriately, then demanded that Kaplan stop and promptly left the massage therapist’s office, the state attorney’s office said.

He was arrested following an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Kaplan was found guilty in Lee County following a two-day trial.

According to the state attorney’s office, Kaplan was sentenced to seven years in prison.

His sentence will be followed by five years of sex offender probation. Kaplan was also classified as a sexual offender.

He is not allowed to talk to the victim or touch patients, clients, or customers as part of his sentencing, including working for any office that requires physical contact.

Additionally, he has been instructed to cover the expenses for both the prosecution and restitution.
