I have been setting up my chair with a chrio during some free screenings he's doing at local businesses.  The responce has been great for him, and ok for me.  But it seems that everyone wants a massage and he is giving his chiro pitch  I'm thinking about doing a few on my own pushing mobile massage rather than having them come to the chiro.  I have done a few house calls, and 1 massage party for a book club...I seem to make alot more that way.  $100 in 3 hours for the book club.  Has anyone had sucess doing free demos with their chair with or without a chiro?

I did some free 5 min. demos for a health fair years back.  Not only do I now have a regular chair job for the company (4.5 years and still going), but I also got regular table work from it.  I am also always invited back to attend the health fair every time they have it.I did a talk for a company about massage and did a demo on one of the employees.  Again I got a regular chair job from it and table work as well.Go for it!

Masthera, what do you charge for a chair job with a company?And vchild, the book club booking sounds pretty cool. How exactly does that work? Do you show up at their regular book club meeting and give chair massages on demand and they each pay you a set fee for a certain number of minutes?

Masthera, what do you charge for a chair job with a company?

For the two companies that I currently go to I charge:
$20 for 20 minutes
$10 for 10 minutes

For any new companies I will be charging:
$25 for 20 minutes
$15 for 10 minutes

I recently decided that $1 per minute was not enough when considering travel time and misc. costs.

I just raised the prices for the one job that I have had for years (they were at $15 for 20 minutes-I agreed in the beginning to charge the same as the person before me) and the other job I started before deciding to change my rates, so will will leave them be for a while.

I don't really like doing chair massage, but I have found it to be a good marketing tool.  The extra steady income helps too!
