OVERLAND PARK, Kan.—October 2, 2017—The 12th Annual Meeting of the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) was held in Tampa, Florida on September 29-30, 2017. In attendance were 41 delegates, along with 60 registrants from member boards, businesses and professional associations.
The delegate assembly, comprised of FSMTB member boards and agencies, elected Thomas Ryan, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Massage Therapy and Bodywork Therapy Affiliated Credentialing Board, and Robin Alexander, Chair of the Louisiana State Board of Massage Therapy, to three-year terms.
Ed Bolden, Chair of the Tennessee Massage Licensure Board, was elected to serve as president of the board, Craig Knowles, Chair of the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy, was elected to serve as vice president, and David Cox, Chair of the Maryland State Board of Massage Therapy Examiners, was elected to serve as treasurer.
Karen Armstrong, former Chair of the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy, completed her role as Immediate Past President, and Kim Adams Johnson, Vice Chair of the Nebraska Board of Massage Therapy, completed her three-year term as an FSMTB Director.
The delegate assembly appointed Pam Nichols of the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy, Lydia Nixon of the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, and Bridget Myers of the South Dakota Board of Massage Therapy to serve on the 2018 Nominating Committee.
