Gave free treatment as prize but not wanted!!

Hi everyone,

I recently paid to advertsie on a local website here in Ireland, its a forum like this for local mums to chat on, and i thought it would be good idea to offer a prize draw for a free treatment per month for the 6mths i have signed up to advertise for....

Was very upset last night to spot a discussion where the winner did not really want the prize, it was as if she had got the short straw in the draw!!

I have been on to owner and said that i didnt want my prize to be given to just anyone each month but actually someone who was interested in Reflexology and they had to put their name down for draw.

Anyway, just feel annoyed at the chat that has been going on about reflexology and lack of interest. I recently posted on here asking for any ideas for an article i am going to write for that website, so will get on and do that now and hopefully this will make more people aware.

I dont really post on that website to chat, as i find it a bit clicky and not friendly, not like our HP!!

Don't worry though - like you said, you can now focus on offering people who really want to winthe prize, chance to win it. There are plenty of grateful people out there.

Concentrate on an informative article now, and you will be able to educate those who are not in the know!Will be happy to proof it for you if that's any help (an ex-editor and proofreader in days gone by!).

Isn't it shocking when people don't know or appreciate what you are offering!

remember though, it takes allsorts to make the World go round, and it would be a dull place if we all thought the same.

Explaining the benefits of the treatment and really BIGGING it up would be a good start to get the interest, plus its more advertising for you.

If you look in the classified ads of your local free press, theres always things for sale as an unwanted gift.

Can you not offer to re-raffle it?

I went to my local spiritualist church (I only attend a few times a year) and bought a raffle ticket. I won the first prize!!!! Boy was I cheesed off! Everyone else won chocolates, a mediums autobiography and a bottle of wine. Me? I won a family ticket to see a Basket ball match. I haven't used it and could have cried when I won it! Someone else in the room would have probably LOVED IT!

Daisy, i too use a daisy for my reflexology logo, and call my business Blissful Feet Reflexology, i love daisies and the spiritual name for daisy is bliss, so came up with blissful feet and daisy logo.

Know what you mena about getting an unwanted prize in raffle, but i wasnt really giving it away as a raffle, i wanted people to reply to a thread like this if they really wanted the prize as a way to promote my business locally. You can only mention your business if you are a paid advertiser, so thought being able to promote myself in a forum would be great but maybe not..... will keep at it.....

Amazing thing is, i trained as a Reflexologist due to experiencing fertility problems and even though i dont mention them in my ad, most of my clients seem to have similar probs, weird how they must be drwan to me, but nice as well.
