Getting a massage is sometimes considered a luxury but health experts say it’s something that pays off big to our health. It can help with things like tension headaches. It boosts the immune system by increasing and activating our body’s natural “killer t cells” that fight off viruses. Research also suggest it boosts mental health by lowering stress, anxiety and depression. It’s also an option for pain management. Physical fitness is also improved through massage therapy as it reduces muscle tension and improves exercise performance. Community colleges with massage therapy programs often offers discounts to the public in order for their students to gain experience required to complete the program. The Robeson Community College in Pembroke is offering one hour appointments for just $20 on campus. For more information, click here or visit the school’s website Robeson.edu.
