Giving Something Back

Over recent weeks I have found myself addicted to what topic of conversation is going to come up next or what type of response is going to be given to some hard hitting and sometimes personal topics. This has been making me think of why is this taking up so much of time and why do I find it such a good read. I have realised that it mainly comes down to the business decisions that Nikki has made in developing this site. Obviously there are the contributors to the forum and the availability of such a wide array of beautiful ladies to consider, but still when you come back to it everyone is here because of the conscious decision made by Nikki and her management capability.

In the past few months I have created a newsletter for my company and one of the things that I have put in place in this Newsletter is an area where my clients write a column on : What my company is doing well and what area's can we improve on. Basic business really, but it is invaluable to helping your business grow and prosper. Giving an outside view of where the ship should head. Not that you have to take it on board but it helps with ideas and view points that you not have otherwise thought of.


So Miss Nikki if you don't mind me saying so the area's that have impressed me about this site are as follows:
1. The variety of people that contribute to the forum.
2. The clear rules and guidelines that have been issued.
3. The boundaries that have been set and are enforced where they need to be.
4. The open discussions that don't just have to relate to the adult industry.
5. The professional approach to business that is applied to situations.
6. The variety of services and ladies that have been provided to all of us mp.nets.
7. The interaction between mp.nets and Working Ladies.

A couple of improvements that I think would benefit the site:
1. Not allowing a topic going off discussion and asking people to post it or move the post to a new section.
2. If a topic by chance does go off a topic move as soon as possible.
3. Posting reviews a bit quicker.

As you can see the positive far outweigh the negatives and this is the reason for the great success's that Nikki will endure in any business's that she commits to.

The only thing that I ask if anyone feels the need to contribute to this topic is. If you are going to write something negative you must always counteract with a positive. In saying that, it does not mean that you say “ Nikki I love your site BUT” You must give details of improvements that you think might benefit the forum. As well as details of what you like about the site.

On a personal note I would like to thank Nikki for the medium that has been provided for us all to enjoy.

Small caveat to Crackers

I like the suggestions in general, but have a small quibble about the whole 'getting off topic' thing.

God knows I've been guilty as anybody of helping threads wander away Reviewom the original topic, so this might be read as defensive, but it really isn't - I'd be (among) the first to admit that threads going off-topic isn't healthy.

BUT... I'm not sure if I'd like to have a rigidly enforced system to prevent it.

The simple fact is, much of the best discussion (not all - see the brothels vs private, and guilty feelings threads) recently on the boards (I don't get into chat) has been off-topic.

And I don't think that the discussion on those topics would have been as lengthy or as detailed if someone had just started a new thread with a generic, could-be-posted-at-any-time subject heading like "Truth and accuracy in WL reviews".

The reason is simple - people enjoy going Reviewom the specific to the general. Not starting off with the general and theoretical, but with the specific example and the concrete.

As for going off topic - I took a look back at those threads and can't pinpoint to my own satisfaction the precise post at which I would say "This needs it's own thread". So, although I respect the work of the moderators, I'm not sure what the guidelines would be for such a decision.

Anyway, that's just a caveat, not a reason for rejection. Cheers!

Hey NoLogoBoy,

Hows it going? Firstly I would like to say that I think that you have an excellent point. But how Ironic is this.

My post was put their as a way to help give something back to Nikki Reviewom a business point of view. It was an idea that I use in my company that has helped me to no end and when I emailed Nikki with the idea and asked her if she would mind if I posted, she seemed to think it was a pretty good idea as well. (The post that is not my way of thinking about "going off topic").

Everyone has a different view point of how something should be done and that is my whole point of saying list the things that you like about the AB site as well as the area's in which you think the site can improve.

With the talent that comes and goes Reviewom this site whether you are a Businees owner, Student, Employee, an AVG Joe Blow it is a great oppertunity for Nikki and others who use this forum to have different veiw points put to them. Not that anybody has to react to them or take them as gospel for a sure fire idea, but as a tool that they can use to their advaneforum.xxxe.

Finally I think that without the likes of yourself, Royce, Raven, CMWombat, Narasist, Jayee, Colin The Hun, Nty Nikki, Nikki VIP etc, etc (Sorry to all the people that I have missed) the whole forum and discussion board thing would be extremly boring and wouldn't last. This is just my way of trying to help give something back to the providers of a great medium to express view points for all walks of life.

Finally Finally I will start a new thread to discuss this further . lmao (Yes I am just joking)

Thanks Crackers for taking my post in the right spirit, but - at the hihgly ironic risk of dragging this thread itself off topic - I wasn't suggesting that your initial post was solely devoted to that topic. Rather, it was just on that single point that I wanted to comment, since I liked and agreed with virtually all the rest of what you wrote.

That's why I titled it a caveat rather than as a criticism.

To get things back ON topic - what could be improved on here - gawds, I don't really think there's much - though why no forum for Tasma...

That's my sneaky way of touching on the one way I AM Reviewustrated by - but can't see any way of changing - the way the focus of much discussion has passed Reviewom the forums to the chatroom. As I've said in the past, it's a little disenReviewanchising. I'd love to understand why Nikki has ten - sorry, eleven - kids and WTF the Reviewozen trout is all about. However, since it's helped solidify the AB virtual community, I'm very 'pro' chat - I just wish I could take part in it!

So that's hardly going to be much help, is it?

Oh, and anyone who's been a member less than a week who posts "Are you going to come to my city?" in response to a new WL should be shot. Natural selection, survival of the fittest and all that. Same with people who boost their number of posts by replies that read, in full, "LOL!" or the like.

On Topic Discussions

Hiya Crackers,

I can understand the Reviewustration of some readers when a discussion goes "off topic". I know that quite often, people often see what appears to be (or starts out as) a review thread, with say, 12 posts, but upon opening it, find only one or two reviews, the rest of the posts being comments or seemingly unrelated discussion.

Indeed, we could ask that everyone try to stay "on topic", but how does one enforce that? We are all different, with different ideas as to what constitutes being relevant to a particular discussion.

I'll give you another example, something I've seen many a time before:

Let's say "James" writes a review of "Jane" who works at "The Big Red House".

"Steve" reads James's review and starts thinking.... "Hmmm, Jane sounds a lot like "Jill" at "The Small Blue House" and posts a reply saying "Hey guys, if you think Jane is good you should try Jill at The Small Blue House". Invariably, this will be followed by a flurry of posts asking questions about Jill, eg: "What does she look like?", "When does she work?", "Does she do xxxxxx?", "Where can I find Jill?" and so the discussion goes off topic.

So is Steve doing anything wrong? In the eyes of people reading the thread, wanting information about Jane and The Big Red House, certainly, but to him, he is merely sharing information about a similar lady, so in his own perception, it's related to the original topic.

Certainly a few of the discussions have gone "off topic" here in recent times, BUT in doing so have, as many have noted, sparked some very interesting conversations.

I have been moderating forums like Aus-Babe for four years now, and am yet to find a way of forcing people to stick to a particular topic. Certainly it is possible to split a discussion off into a separate discussion, but Nikki, Tracy and myself aren't sitting in Reviewont of our computers 24/7 (though sometimes it looks like we are :wink: ) and occasionally a discussion will develop to the point where if we break it off into a separate discussion of its own, it can cause some confusion to those who have already contributed to it in its original place.

Some will disagree with me, but personally, I'd rather see interesting and thought provoking conversations, even if they do diverge somewhat Reviewom an existing discussion. Sometimes it's only when reading an existing discussion that the thought processes get into gear and you start thinking... :wink:

Funny you should mention that...

Oddly enough, AB evolved differently to all the other forums...

We started out with just the advertising page and a chat room, and the forum came mpter. Naturally, when the forum started, the chat room crossed over, which is why there is such an odd mix here...
