GOOD Go Go in Pootong...

I was worshipping at the Altar of Baccara in Soi Cowboy, Bangkok the other night and a group of us were having a chat about the lack of a good Go Go Club in Pootong. Sure I have been to what I believe is most of the Go Go's in Pootong and to be frank most of them are pretty 2nd or 3rd rate joints at best. So 3 questions.

1. Have I missed a blindingly obvious standout Go Go establishment in Pootong that has the standards of somewhere like Baccara ? If so guidance will be gladly recieved.

2. Which Go Go's or even Beer Bars do the Japanese frequent in Pootong?

3. Why do readers believe there a lack of a high standard Go Go in Pootong ?

1. IMHO No! I don't think there is a go-go in Patong to match some of the higher end joints in Pats or Bangkok.

2. I've no idea where the Japanese big spenders go. I just see them walking up and down with thousands of yens worth of cameras hanging around thier necks.

3. IMHO again, I think it is prudish local to Phuket legislation by both local authorities and/or the Police or uncumbant Mayor. Probably trying to push Phuket down the 'Family' orientated/destination holiday route.

There are go-go's as you know, some of them are a bit tacky but then again, I like tacky. What I don't like about go-go's are the drinks prices and some of the 'prima-donna' attitudes of some of the girls. Air-con in high season is good. Every bar on Soi Eric has a dancer on display for 4 or so hours a night.

I enjoy my time in Suzi Wongs now and again and let myself be dragged to Dragon once in a while..........When it was open.

I'm not much of a go-go person, although, I do enjoy the artistic acts in Suzi Wongs in Soi Cowboy and when I've felt lazy (I stay at or near the DIG) I've visited a few in NEP.

I've never been to Suzi Wongs in Patong (walked past it many times ...), but I will correct this situation in December. Rock Hard has never done it for me, nor that one that used to be upstairs on Soi Easy (?).

Only Rock Hard and the newly opened Roxy could be described as half way to the top end ones in BBK or Pats.:intello:
They are both clean and tidy but the puritanical politicians running the island forbid any interesting shows or nudity.h:

aaahhh ok...now the pieces are starting to fall in place. I didnt realise that there was a puritanical power base in Phuket politics. You learn something new every day. Mind you that is probably where the new Mayor of Pattaya has got some of his "family first" ideas from that he has been trying to force through lately.

My bar was directly opposite and we watched the Go Go wither and die with the other owner struggling to hold it together.Possible as long ago as six years ago it closed.Doesn't time fly by.!!
