Its been a good week for me. I was a winner on Monday, even though paired with the wrong playing partner at 625 Queensway. Made a couple of celebrity appearances at some local watering holes (CB, HOL, MDS), to get myself ready for the IT Masters. (See massageplanet.net Grand Slam thread http://www.massageplanet.net.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32147&highlight=massageplanet.net+Grand+Slam )
Picked Friday for my Tee off because I had a choice of 4 playing partners whom I could not go wrong with. (Amber, Jenna, Cristina or Sharon) Finally decided upon Jenna. Right on the 1st hole she made a great approach shot to get things started. She's got a good technique on the front nine, however, not as good of a front nine as I've had in some of the other majors. The middle portions of the round is when I was able to shine, save for one hole when I had to go looking for my ball in the deep rough, which was surprisingly smooth. On the back nine, it seemed to go by a little quick, especially on 18 when she went after the pin a little too quickly, however I was buried in the rough and could not tell her to lay up. However it was a good finish to the hole. A nice little touch was when we went through some of the holes on the front nine again to practice because we had some extra time. A classy touch. The course was as usual, well maintained.
Overall, I still think I prefer the PGA Championship and the British Open more, especially after playing the PGA Championship recently. Will have to try the masters once again, hoever, would like to check out some of the older tourneys on the European tour as well.
