I was there about 3 months ago and I paid only $45 per session because I did not buy the package( with the package $400 for 10 sessions) and like others NO EXTRA being offer.$ 20 tips is the norm but I only tip $ 10 at that time because I feel the massage is way weak and below I acceptable standard. I fell I was being oil rub but not massage. May be I am too demanding in technique.

You're not; there are a lot of crappy, un-trained massage providers out there. Even in massage only places. The owners don't give a rat's ass; they think most customers can't tell the difference. They send the girls for a quickie training course from this Indian dude who runs the Richmond Wellness Centre in Richmond. He strokes his students for one hour, charges them $200, and gives them a phony certificate that satisfies the civic licensing authorities. End result? Crap! The good ones have usually been trained and worked in Asia, before they get here. They know and typically take pride in what they are doing. They are usually older (read experienced); a few good ones have been extensively reviewed in here, and they throw in a nice finish to boot.

The tip is not written as requirement at the front... but ask yourself this question, would you like to work for free for 45 mins? many threads had indicated before that many of those girls are not making money from your room fee, only your generous tip.

If you are looking for only a real massage, there are many RMTs - Registered Massage Therapests in the paper, or in the phone book that you can call and book.

They charge around $50-70 per hour, and depending if you have a medical plan with your company, you can usually get reimbursed for most of it!! Yes, you need to provide a receipt with the RMT's registration #.

Getting a receipt from Madam Cleo's probably won't work.

Perhaps I am missing something but why would anyone want to go to a "Massage Parlour" for a Massage? Seriously, we all know that the VAST majority of these places are fronts for brothels and that is definitely the ONLY reason I go.

If I want a real Massage I'll go to a Thai massage place that has properly trained people, windows, male and female customers etc.

Some of the girls at "Massage Parlours" may or may not know how to give a decent massage but I really don't care all that much. It's just an opener to the main event!

I think you guys who are complaining about the "Massage" given at a "Massage Parlour" are on the wrong board!

The answer is yes and it is very common in Asia.

There are some Asian Massage Parlour/ Spa in town that offer massage only. Green Tea Spa, I believed is one of them.

However, it is hard to stay in business in this town without offering special services. There are just not enough massage only customers to support the business. Also some girls are willing to secretly offer extra services like HJ just to earn more tips.

To offer tips or not in these places. A definitely "yes" even for massage only.

The reason is the girl will receive either a fix salary or paid by the hour, however it will be a very small amount. They are relying on the tips to make up the differences. The case is similar to some restaurant operations that the waiters have very low salary and their main source of income are from tips.
