An advise to all businessmen and professionals.....AVOID Shanghai and just come straight to Hangzhou which is just an hour away by car. From my personal experience, Shanghaiese are arrogant and money-grabbers. If you happen to live in Shanghai, just come over to Hangzhou for a weekend break and you will understand why. Bars, pubs and discos have plenty of choice and are reasonably priced. You can have a young 20s college girl for about 1500 yuan and if you pay 2000 yuan, some of them will company you for the weekend. Again just avoid the tourist traps such as hostess clubs cause they are again rip-offs.
