Has anyone experienced this????

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this with their clients??? Two of mine got numbness in their left hand and wrist whilst I worked on their right foot. They were perfectly relaxed but asked me had this happened before to anyone? I could not pinpoint when exactly it happened but I did notice them rubbing their hand a bit. As soon as the treatment was over the numbness went.

Any ideas?

Hi Mog, I actually could not say exactly. First of all I just thought that they had an itchy hand but I suppose they experienced the most numbness towards the end of their treatment when I focus on the reproductive area but honestly I could not say the exact time it started. Any ideas??? I have never come across it before

I have been thinking about this numbness in the hands and am wondering whether your client has problems with fluid retention?

The reason I ask is because extra fluid can cause pressure on tendons and nerves thus causing numbness. The common one we all know is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I'm not suggesting your client has this!

If this happens again think about the area you were treating on the foot when the numbness occurs. There may be a link to the area where the numbness is felt on the hand.

Do you do hand reflexology? If not and you can find hand charts in most books and try to see any connection and if there is then you would be able to treat any imbalance found.

Hope this helps. I get most of my ideas early in the morning (or late at night depending on which way you look at it!) as I lie awake unable to sleep!
