Have you heard of Likisma

Hello HP people
I have had an email from a lady representing a company called Likisma who sell Aromatherapy products and wanted to discuss a business opportunity with me. I have had a look at their website and it seems to be a direct selling company (with a hint of pyramid selling coming through to my mind)

I have wondered if anybody has any experience of this company that they could share. They appear to be worldwide.

I did Likisma selling for a while, before I qualified as an aromatherapist. It's basically party planning and I found it very difficult to keep the momentum going.

I think their products are good, but the prices are retail, rather than wholesale (so no good selling to aromatherapists). Basically there is quite a lot of pressure to sell and keep the parties going. If you are the sort of person who has an endless supply of people who are happy to hold aromatherapy parties then fine, but I managed to earn enough to pay for my kit and then gave up as I'm not a salesperson by nature.

I think I had the same email as you! I don't really know anything about the Likisma products (ie. how good they are) but yes, it is direct selling, and no, not pyramid, as these schemes have been illegal for quite some time.

I amalso involved in direct sales and I have to say that there is nothing 'dodgy' about it (did I pick up your vibe right??).The only advice I would give would be to make sure you like the products as I think this is the most important point if you are thinking of promoting them.

yes, i used to sell for likisma, like lesley.[/align][/align]good products, not the cheapest though.[/align][/align]party plan selling... worked well for me for awhile... the product sells itself but its the booking further parties thats the toughie![/align]

Hi Jackie

Most of these companies do revolve around marketing them to see a group of ladies to sell on the products. You can sell to other therapists as well as you would get a discount so you could either sell at the discounted price or you could sell somewhere in the middle of the discount and retail price.

I am an aromatherapist and beauty therapist. I work with Virgin Vie Cosmetics as they are reported to be the same quality as Mac make-up. I have also found that when you do have a group of ladies you are selling to they ask about your therapy treatments and then when I have a client they ask about make-up work shops so the two work very well together. You would market yourself in a similar way to how you do market yourself in the therapy business so your half way there anyway.

You would need to see if you like the range first as this is key. If you cannot like at least half of the range to use in your own therapy business then you would probably not use it anyway so it may not be right for you.

Give it a go. Go along at least to a meeting or a training session and chat to the other girls that do this business and you will get a much better balanced view point.

As a therapist you will not make big bucks (£) but within these businesses like Likisma and Virgin (they areNOT pyramid as this is illegal ) you can make a very healthy income. Some only make £200 extra a month and thats fine for them but then there are opportunities to generate income like a royality income and this is where the income increases considerably. My Manager has a £1.5 million turn over busines last year and is earning £7,000 PER MONTH! That's interesting. I have a large family and dont want a 7 day week business but I dont want to give up therapy work so I choose when I work and its building very nicely.
