HARRIS COUNTY, Texas- A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged for robbing a Christian bookstore and a massage spa in west Harris County this week, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Randall Starry robbed a Lifeway Christian Store located in the 20200 block of the Katy Freeway around 9:30 p.m. on March 13.
Deputies said he walked around the store asking employees about their merchandise including inspirational pamphlets and books. Shortly after, he demanded money from the counter.
The suspect told the employee he had a gun under his shirt but never pulled the weapon. He left the scene with money in an unknown direction.
Prior to this incident, a call was made 30 minutes before about a robbery at a Thai massage spa nearby.
The suspect walked into the business asking about prices. A female employee told him they only accept cash and he said he would return with cash before leaving the store.
Deputies said he returned to the store within five minutes. Starry then pulled a knife and put it to the neck of the employee. He demanded money from the cash drawer, but she was unable to open the register. He then left the business.
HCSO robbery investigators arrested Starry for the two aggravated robberies.
