I heard about the National Association for the Self-employed on the radio.

Years ago, I bought insurance (Health) through them.

The cost went up dramatically from year to year, and became entirely too much.

I was quite surprised at the yearly increase, though I can't tell you what it was, because that was about 10 years ago now.

That's all the info I can supply.

Oh, and they had a pretty heavy sales pitch too.

During my first year I got lots of stuff from them, wanting me to join. I looked at it briefly, and thought about it, but the whole cost-benefit just didn't add up.

Biggest waste of money ever. There was a one year waiting period for a doctors visit (annual exam) and such high deductibles.

I'll echo the heavy sales pitch, lousy on return for cash outlay sentiments. Had one of their reps make a presentation to me re: health insurance -- thought my arm was going to twist out of the socket he was twisting it so hard to make the sale [which he didn't by the way]... from all I've seen of them in this area, I'd avoid them.
