One very helpful tool I have purchased and therapists might consider recommending to clients for self care is an electric heating pad:

If the link doesn't work, the one I have bought is a
"SoftHeat King Moist Heating Pad with Aquifier Sponge & Auto-off"
$29.99 CAD
I use it dry without the polyester bag it comes in. In terms of bang-for-your-buck, this item, as well as the Thera Cane, have been head and shoulders above all others.
I use it at least twice a day along my spine. The only disadvaneforum.xxxe is you are not suggested to lie on it, even on a bed (given that it has electric wires inside), so you must lie on your stomach and leave it on your back thus.
Otherwise great.
